Harrodsburg is the main hub of the Welding Technology Program. However, they have welding technology at two other locations. They have 4 full time welding instructors, 4 adjunct welding instructors across all locations. They have other adjuncts for the math, career readiness, and public speaking which is a total of 8 across all locations. One at the Central Kentucky Career Academy in Campbellsville and the other at Isaiah House treatment center where their clients can take 6 months of the welding program as they finish their treatment program. The Isaiah House students then transfer to one of our other locations to complete the program. The Professional Pipe Welding program was launched fall of '20.

Mattie Bartley

Mattie Bartley, "My experience at CU has been phenomenal. The welding program at Campbellsville University has expanded my skills in the trade tremendously. I’ve learned many new techniques and I am currently working on more certifications. CU definitely chose some of the best instructors; they’ve all pushed me to be better and I could not be more thankful for them. I’m currently working as a welder at Central Kentucky Tool but my ultimate goal as a welder is to teach after I gain more experience. I would tell anyone who is even considering welding, just keep the hood down and try to make every weld better than your last. There will be days that are hard and you will make mistakes but don’t give up. "

Matthew Kirkpatrick - Pipe Welding

Here is what Matthew Kirkpatrick from their pipe welding program has to say about enrolling, "It's the best decision I've made going further into a welding career. Going through pipe school you learn so much that you will use in everyday life as a pipe line welder/fitter. Randy Shewmaker is one of the best in the business when it comes to knowing his pipe. Through the program, I gained so much exposure to things I never even realized went into pipe welding. Going to Campbellsville has been something that I'd do all of again in an instant, without a doubt. Chris King and Randy Shewmaker have made doors open up in life that seemed as if the were impossible to reach. I plan on getting all my equipment ready for the road and traveling when I graduate. It's been a passion since high school and I took the opportunity and ran with it and haven't looked back!"
